Getting Back On Track

I joined a gym at the beginning of February....now ask me how many times I've gone to the gym.  Maybe like 5...which is not very many.  I feel like I'm wasting my money, but I need some motivation to get up & go.  As if my increasing pants size isn't motivation enough LOL.

I used to run nearly every day, 3-4 miles a day on the treadmill - that was back when I was traveling.  I've been home since mid-Jan, but will be back on the road starting March 8th & that means back to running!  In the mean time though, I need to take full advantage of my freakin gym membership!  I had planned to run in a 5K next weekend & I think I might still do it!  I want one of my friends to do it with me, but I can tell she's iffy about signing up!  5K is only 3 miles - I can do that in about 35 minutes, so can she, she just needs a little push lol!

So here's to getting back on track....I'm going to hit the gym every morning next week, count my calories & continue my journey to being a healthier me.

Here are my "stats" at the moment:
Age: 26 (soon to be 27 sniff sniff)
Height: 5 feet 11 inches
Current weight: 159.5
Goal  weight: 150

I realize I only need to lose about 10 pounds, but 10 pounds is hard to lose - I swear!!

everyone always says the last couple of pounds are the hardest! But I'm sure you will make it!

Do the 5k! Have you done one before? I did one yeaaaaars ago, when I was actually a runner, but my goal is to be able to complete one again.

and hahaha, I'm also about to turn 27 (sniff...sniff). IN a month! exactly!

ugh the last 10 are so hard! ive got more than 10 to my ultimate goal, but my mini goal is exactly 9.8 away. every time i lose a pound, i gain a few ounces the following week. it's a never ending game with my fat cells... writing this is actually making me want to go for a run, and i hate running lol

good luck to you and enjoy the 5k!

Aw I quit my gym because I wasn't getting my money's worth out of it. But then I moved and now I have one at my condo complex and I've been trying to go at least 3 days per week.

You can do it girl. : ]

Yay~!!! You're a tall girl like me :)
I know, I've never been a "gym girl" either. If I didn't dance, I wouldn't work out at all lol. I never got a lot out of going to the gym a few times in college. I'd rather dance or take a walk or swim.
Good luck!! You should def. do the race.

kudos for you for getting up early to workout in the am. i don't have that discipline. although it's not hard to stay in bed in wintertime. i'm hoping to change my running routine up and start outdoors in the am once spring hits! aiming for a 5k april 3!
